July Event Rundown

Reading Time: 4 minutes

Summer is in full swing on the mountain and we’ve got a jam-packed July event schedule to help you summer different. Our schedule includes bike races, music festivals, yoga, and more.

Independence Day Celebrations:

July 6 – July 8, 2024

It’s the 248th anniversary America’s independence! Celebrate with us all weekend long on the mountain. Thursday afternoon will be the second race in our Hotdogs & Handlebars series. We encourage everyone to don their patriotic gear for this fun and progression focused race.

Throughout the celebration get your groove on with free concerts in the village featuring local artists. After The Tomlin Brothers set concludes on Friday, migrate to Skidder Slope for an up-close and personal firework show.

Little rippers and families can check out the STACYC Bike Challenge Saturday morning and our Village Games Sunday morning for off-trail fun. Of course, the Bike Park, Raven Golf Club, and Outdoor Adventure activities running are all weekend as well.

Downhill Southeast: Snowshoe #2 + Go Nuts Racing

July 12 – July 14, 2024

The second weekend in July brings a racing triple header to the mountain with the championship rounds of Downhill Southeast and the Go Nuts Racing Spring Enduro and Spring XC racing series.

The racing starts Saturday with the Go Nuts Spring Enduro Finals. Racers can expect a mix of loamy, tight, backcountry trails coupled with fast, open bike park tracks and a route that stretches across Snowshoe.

Competition continues Sunday morning with the Go Nuts XC Finals. This race will take place on the Silver Creek area trails. The 7-mile XC loop will feature lung busting climbs and narrow, probably slippery, single track.

The weekend finishes out with the Downhill Southeast Finals. After a successful and wet round on the Basin side, DHSE will move back to Western Territory to tackle a modified version of the World Cup course. This gnarly and fast course brings exciting racing every year and is not one to miss for racers and spectators alike.

4848 Music Festival

July 18 – July 20, 2024

Everyone’s favorite festi-cation is back! 4848 brings 3 days of live music to the mountain. Greensky Bluegrass returns and is joined by The Flaming Lips, Grammy Award winning Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, and more acts. Molly Tuttle will headline Thursday night, The Flaming Lips takes center stage Friday night, and Greensky Bluegrass closes out the festival Saturday evening.

This festival has 3 unique stages. The Boathouse will be the setting for midday shows. The Village Stage will host afternoon, evening, and late night shows. The Sky Stage, set on Skidder Slope, will host some afternoon shows and the main evening events.

This is the full music festival experience with the advantage of taking place at an amazing outdoor playground with fun for all ages.

Blues & Brews + Yoga Power Retreat

July 25 – July 28, 2024

Our final events of July are the Blues & Brews Festival and the Yoga Power Retreat. Take part in both events for a relaxing and rejuvenating weekend on the mountain.

The Yoga Power Retreat will feature 3 days of classes around the mountain and focusing on different things. Start your day off with sunrise yoga or go down to the lake and test your balance with Stand Up Paddleboard yoga.

Blues & Brews Festival includes 2 days of live music, whiskey tastings from our partners at TINCUP and Stranahan’s Whiskey, craft beer sampling, and more. Friday night will have 2 free concerts in the Village and 3 whiskey tasting classes. The main event takes place Saturday night in the Village and each ticket includes a wrist band for sampling, souvenir cup, and a voucher for a whiskey tasting, not to mention access to the music. The Saturday night music and sampling is restricted to those age 21 and up. Stick around on Sunday to take part in the third Hotdogs & Handlebars Race on the right side blue trails of Western Territory.
