…you Summer Different at Snowshoe Mountain. Our Island-in-the-Sky is just 4 hours from D.C., 4 hours from Pittsburgh, and 3 hours from Charleston and Morgantown. How’s the temperature up here? Our hottest days are rarely above 90 degrees with minimal humidity.

So, what does the perfect summer weekend at Snowshoe look like?

FRIDAY

Go ahead and take a half day on Friday. Enjoy a scenic drive up the mountain with the goal of arriving around 4:00pm. Upon arrival, stop by The Inn at Snowshoe or Allegheny Springs where you’ll check-in to your lodging and pick up your room key and Summer Fun Passes.

What’s a Summer Fun Pass? When you book your lodging through Snowshoe, everyone on your reservation gets a free pass that gives you access to Scenic Lift Rides, Shavers Lake Activities, the Climbing Wall, Split Rock Pools, and more!

Once you’re settled, take an evening walk through the Village. Check out some of the shops like Signatures & Sweets or Pocahontas Supply. Then, grab a to-go pizza from Cheat Mountain Pizza and meander over to the top of Western Territory to take in a beautiful sunset.

SATURDAY

Take your time waking up, our bike trails and activities don’t open until 10:00am so no need to rush.

Start out your day in the world renowned Snowshoe Bike Park. Hop in a 101 lesson to get the feel of things. Our 101 lessons provide you with a bike, protective equipment, lift ticket, and a coach for an hour and half. The lesson will start with some skills in a flat area followed by a no-pressure trail ride down our smooth and flowy green trails. And, if you enjoyed the lesson, you can extend your rental and lift ticket for some more downhill laps. Bike School offers lessons for all ages and skill levels, including lessons specifically designed for junior shredders.

Between your lesson and lunch cool down at Shavers Lake. Get down to the lake by taking a Scenic Lift Ride down Ballhooter Lift. Once there, wade in the cool water or lay out in the sun on the white sand beach. Or, bring a book down and lounge in a shaded hammock. You could also explore the woods while playing the Fairy Diddle Disc Golf course, an 18 hole course that takes you up, down, and around the base area. Don’t have discs? We’ve got some available for purchase down at the guard shack.

Continue your adventure into the afternoon with one of our many Outdoor Adventure activities. Take part in some gas powered fun with a side-by-side tour around the property or pull the trigger down at Sporting Clays. Didn’t get enough seat time during the 101 lesson? Take an E-Bike Tour on a pedal assisted mountain bike. Our Adventure Guides will tailor the route to the skill level of the group so everyone can enjoy it.

Before dinner, relax at Split Rock Pools. If you booked your lodging through Snowshoe you’ll get access to the indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs for free. And, its centrally located in the Village so you can go right to dinner after a swim.

End your evening with a sweet treat from the Village Scoop with ice cream, shakes, malts and some quality family time with board or card games in the shop.

SUNDAY

Before you head home, make some time for one more adventure. Pack up the car and head down to The Raven Golf Club. Grab a delicious breakfast from The Raven Grille and enjoy the view from the freshly remodeled club house and the spacious deck.

After your meal, check in for a quick 9 hole game or a full round of 18 holes designed by Gary Player himself. The Pro Shop has everything you’ll need including golf balls, tees, rental clubs, and accessories. Take in the scenic views from hole 4 and take on the challenging hole 12.

After your round hit the road back home. Drive safe and we’ll see y’all next time!
